![]() I had never had anything at Comforts Cafe in San Anselmo except their famous Chinese chicken salad (yes, it lives up to the hype) until recently when I went for a MMO (moms morning out) with friends. I'm not a breakfast lover, but I savored every bite of my eggs benedict, which was perfectly cooked with a rich, buttery hollandaise on an Engish muffin. I ordered mine with Canadian bacon (ham or bacon or spinach & tomato were the other options). I also enjoyed the fruit (honeydew, pineapple) and home-style potatoes that came with it, though I would have preferred hash browns. $11.50 seemed a bit steep, but it was was a worthy splurge. We rarely eat out with the children, and when we do, it's usually In-n-Out or Fresh Choice, but the prices are reasonable at Comforts (there were cheaper items than what I got), and there's a kids' menu for lunch, so it seems like it could be a family meal destination if you live nearby or you want to grab a bite before or after heading to west Marin to walk around Lake Lagunitas, hike Samuel P. Taylor State Park, or go to the beaches at Point Reyes.
