About

I'm Marla Swoffer, a Marin County, California native and a Jewish Jesus follower. I have a masters in journalism from UC Berkeley and I am an INFJ who is a certified Myers-Briggs Personality Type Practitioner.
My husband is my best friend and we have three children whom we educate at home, initially because our oldest child asked me to midway through first grade in public school a decade ago (she's graduating this spring). Before that, I couldn't imagine homeschooling and now I can't imagine doing anything else.
Back in my blogging heyday (2002-2006), I was one of the founding members of what was then dubbed the Godblogosphere, including an evangelical women's blog called "Intellectuelle" (traces of my past notoriety can still be googled). Then along came my third child, and shortly thereafter the unexpected path of homeschooling. There went my plan to write while the kids were away at school all day. But the life I got instead has turned out to be far more fulfilling, and is making me a better writer. With our kids all in the teen years, my primary calling is not any easier or less time consuming (in fact, it's more challenging in certain ways), but I have an inkling that the path is broadening...
I post to my Facebook profile and pages more often than my blog:
